Common drugs that patients take for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease have been linked to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular problems, researchers report.
Scientists in North Carolina found a 58 percent increased risk of cardiac death, heart attack or stroke in people taking these drugs, said Dr. Sonal Singh, assistant professor of internal medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
